Plan launch gear, deliberate shift, and top-end so you land near 110 rpm and spend more meters in the faster gear. This tool is designed to make your gearing decision repeatable—like kata.
How it works: You choose wheel + sprint type + distance. The tool selects a launch gear and a top-end gear, then computes a shift plan that targets a clean landing cadence (108–112 rpm). ×10 gating unlocks only when your Clean-Shift RPM is high enough.
“When I started working with Coach David, my max sprint was just under 1200 watts for five seconds. Today, I’m pushing over 1500 watts and what used to be 1000 watts for 10 seconds is now over 20 seconds. The workouts are methodical and progressive, building not only peak power, but also the cadence and repeatability to use it in racing. Combined with strength and plyometrics, The System works. I’ve helped Coach David refine the sprint program since January 2023 and today the results speak for themselves — significant measurable gains in power and performance.”

Applying a preset fills the gearing fields. You can still edit manually after applying.
If you know your measured value, use it. Presets are directional.
Terrain shifts cadence windows and “shift-earlier vs later” bias.
Longer distance reduces cadence cap and may suggest a 2-shift plan.
Used to offset cadence windows (shorter cranks typically support slightly higher cadence).
If Clean-Shift ≥ 132 rpm, ×10 top-end is allowed (if you have it).
If set, it will cap the auto cadence ceiling.
Complete required fields to run.
Baseline windows: Flat 95–105 • Uphill 92–102 • Downhill 98–108. Crank offsets (directional): 175(–3), 172.5(–1), 170(0), 165(+2), 155(+4). Landing baseline 108–112 with same offsets.
| Crank | Flat | Uphill | Downhill | Landing target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 175 | 92–102 | 89–99 | 95–105 | 105–109 |
| 172.5 | 94–104 | 91–101 | 97–107 | 107–111 |
| 170 | 95–105 | 92–102 | 98–108 | 108–112 |
| 165 | 97–107 | 94–104 | 100–110 | 110–114 |
| 155 | 99–109 | 96–106 | 102–112 | 112–116 |
Run a scenario to enable report outputs.
strokes ≈ distance ÷ DPS (pure rollout). One-shift spends more meters in the higher-DPS gear.
Estimated 1-shift uses a terrain-biased split of time in launch vs top-end gear.
